Does the tension in your feet keep you from feeling the ground?
Does the tension in your pelvis stop you from feeling safe?
We need to know where our support is; we need to feel the ground, whether that’s directly through our feet or indirectly through a chair. To stay up, we need to know where down is.
Somewhere, there are statistics that tell us you’re more likely to fall as you get older, and whilst there are many factors within this information, the simple truth is you’re more likely to get a bit stiffer in your body as you get older – unless you don’t!
- You can learn to keep your body supple.
- You can learn to keep your body internally supported.
Ideally you want both these things; then walking, standing on one leg, standing on two legs – anything really, becomes easy. Easy in the body; it feels good, and I can help you with all of that.

But there’s more…
When you consciously register that the ground is beneath you, when you feel it, you shift into a more restful you. Your root can rest, plug into the ground and connect with earthly wisdom. You’ll feel more sure of yourself, with a gentle but certain confidence in who you are and what you have to offer. It’s as if you’ve got some back-up, a bit of extra support and energy.
Learning to clear the way for this support and energy to move through you is the work. I’m talking about releasing unhelpful patterns within your body that have been there for a long time.
Originally, those responses kept you safe. Pulling back into yourself so you’re not so “seen”. Holding your breath, bracing against what might come next. “Shutting down” after being told you were too much. Clamping down in your body to keep yourself in check, after continual reprimands for fidgeting. Sadly, the list can be almost endless. Each time your body created a safety pattern it took you further from the earth, and it’s support and energy.
Now you’re an adult, you’re allowed to be ALL OF YOU.
And I can help you with that too.
Learning to release and transform these old patterns of tension within your body isn’t just about muscles and connective tissue. It’s about you becoming the full and awesome version of you. Without bracing or holding back or playing small. And it’s about finally allowing enough freedom within your body, to allow that energy and support to flow from the ground up and into you.
